Hello everyone!
I hope you've been enjoying your summer with family and friends. As always, I apologize for the lack of posts.. it seems when one thing is in order, another is in disorder and it's becoming increasingly harder to balance work, home life and blogging. But please stay with me! I have recently discovered a passion of mine I feel I need to share with the world.
If you follow me on virtually any social media platform, it's likely that you've seen my stance on GMO's and an organic diet. After reading articles, watching documentaries, interacting with activists and talking with friends (and strangers who've become friends), I've come to realize there are some people out there who are on the same page as myself, endlessly curious and demanding answers, but maybe they don't have the time, energy or willpower to put in the work for this knowledge. So I've decided to be a beacon of sorts for these folks. I hope that in the future, I can become a trusted source for honest, alternative information. Everyone has to begin somewhere.
In the past few months, (more like 6+) I have battled with the urge to bring alternative fashion news, but as the industry continues to be bombarded with uninspiring, all-too-trendy people and shows, I've started to shy away from this passion. That honestly makes me unhappy because I once thought of fashion as a bountiful source of artistic talent and atypical personalities. It's more than clear that this industry has been diluted with money hungry, gluttonous and greedy personas and I just can't waste my time on that anymore. I do, strongly, support my fellow fashion bloggers, and hope to occasionally blog on that topic, but I promise you will not see #OOTD posts, sponsored shopping posts, reviews or anything of that nature here or on Perry Rose Report. If that's what you want, I'm sorry. If you're looking for a fresh take on fashion and lifestyle, then welcome. Side note: this is not meant to bring any shade to the bloggers who write as such, so please do not take offense. This is entirely about me and my thought process not a critique of anyone else's work.
Now more than ever I need to embrace what is calling my soul. That is the Non-GMO, organic and "alternative" informed, crunchy lifestyle. I would like to note that it's pretty unfortunate a lifestyle focused on the ecosystem, internal health, knowledge, activism, the future and credibility is seen as alternative, but hey, that's what happens when you live in a country that's been bought out time and time again by Big Ag, Big Pharma and Big Food.
If you're interested in the journey I am about to take, which I will explain in further detail below, then please, reach out to me via email, connect with me on Instagram and Pinterest.
This journey will be a long road. I won't lie, I love food that isn't good for me. My brain releases the same Serotonin as yours when I delve into a greasy burger or creamy ice cream. But that is no excuse to continue to participate in the ridiculous state of mainstream American food economics. I am currently looking into credible sources for finding LOCAL grass-fed beef; organic fruits, vegetables, legumes and more; antibiotic free dairy; and much more.
I hope you are looking forward to the future of this page... which is ever-evolving! as I certainly am.
Sincere blessings,
TMR
